Woodland Appraisal

We can offer an appraisal of the woodland resource and the woodland’s strengths so vital for effective management. This is based on current commercial, environmental and social factors.

Woodland Management Plans

We will recommend the most appropriate silvicultural system for the woodland. E.g monocultures, multi-aged systems, conifer and hardwood timber production.

We can advise on a woodland’s short, medium and long term management objectives. We will also prescribe on how to achieve these aims. We will gain approval from the forestry commission enabling access to further grant aid.

Timber management, harvesting and marketing

We can arrange harvesting operations by either sourcing contractors or arranging standing sale tenders and contracts. As forestry managers we can oversee these operations and act on behalf of the client ensuring compliance with the Forestry Standard.

Woodland Grants and Licences

Grant and Licence Applications

We are experienced in the English woodland grant scheme (EWGS) and can make applications made on behalf of the client for woodland creation, improvement and management.

We can also source additional funding, e.g income from the Carbon Code initiative, the wood fuel initiative or, pursue private funding for community projects.

We can assist in Forest certification to UK Woodland Assurance Standard (UKWAS).

We provide sound advice in relation to current habitat and species legislation.
